Unmatched opportunities created by robust IT growth in Lebanon & the region
Growing at 9.8% or more than double the world average, the development of telecom and IT sectors in the region is creating vast opportunities for industry players. According to IDC (International Data Corporation), Telecom spending in the Middle East and Africa is the lowest in the world, at $41.4 billion in 2002 with the Gulf States contributing over $14.5 billion of the total. Lebanese programmers and designers remain at the forefront of the region’s software and IT industries. The government has recently joined the private sector to develop e-government in the country. The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy and Trade signed two agreements with Microsoft to develop e-government services and build the ICT sector in the country.
Termium ICT Lebanon is the Levant’s largest international IT trade fair
For the 12th consecutive year Termium ICT Lebanon 2008 will feature a showcase of the very IT software, hardware, services and solutions, E-commerce applications, retail pos, CRM, ERP, mobile and business intelligence top the very latest from the software sector at the prestigious Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center (BIEL). This year Termium ICT Lebanon 2008 will include new pavilions; the idea of having new pavilions is set by Termium ICT Lebanon organizers in order to boost the ICT sector and provide Termium ICT Lebanon with innovations and sections.

Government and NGO – will include official and non-official bodies that have played a significant role in the ICT sector in Lebanon.
Telecom – telecom operators and ISP””s (Internet Service Providers) will provide the latest developments.
Banking & Finance – will include various products and solutions in relation to banks and financial organizations.
Consumer Pavilion – the biggest in Termium ICT Lebanon featuring a wide range of information and communication technology hardware products and solutions as well as the latest in electronics.
Education & Training – it will be comprised of universities and training centers displaying their innovative solutions and hi-tech training capabilities.
Media & Multimedia – the visual, audiovisual and advertising sector.
Country Pavilions – will include companies from different countries showcasing their products and solutions.
The PC market in the Levant region is far from saturation
IDC indicates a surge in demand for PCs in the region, particularly within the government administration and education sectors. Lebanon and its Levant partners are attempting to modernize their economies including e-government initiatives. This builds up new opportunities for PC vendors. According to IDC, consumer sales were driven by strong demand for portable PCs, supported by growing entry-level offerings and fierce competition in the retail channel.
