Sodetel
Sodetel is the oldest telecom operator in Lebanon and was established in 1968.It is owned by the
Lebanese Government (%50) & Orange Middle East and Africa (%50). The company is credited for
launching one of the first submarine cables in the Middle East spanning from Beirut to Marseilles in
France. Sodetel introduced in the 1990s the first switched data services in Lebanon, enabling banks,
multinationals and various corporations to benefit from innovative telecom services and increase their
efficiency and productivity.
Since 1996, Sodetel has provided a range of Internet and broadband services in collaboration with
France Telecom and then Orange. Today it is a leading VDSL, Fiber Optics and Wireless Internet
Provider.
The company has built an advanced and sophisticated telecom network enabling it to sell premium
services to residential and corporate clients. Sodetel had previously launched the first Unlimited
Broadband service in Lebanon. Sodetel is in the process of implementing its own Fiber Optics Network
and currently offers Fiber service to the residential and corporate clients, through a Bitstream access.
Furthermore, Sodetel offers a wide range of wireless Internet services. It implemented 3G & 4G
services on a full data MVNO model. Sodetel is recognized for providing the highest quality Internet
and Telecom services for the corporate sector. Its serves the largest multinationals, organizations,
universities and banks in Lebanon. Customers appreciate in particular the expertise of its technical
